hi everyone i mean what is the point in paying an extra$100 dollars for a mem card ready 40gb more space and wifi realy wen you could buy it and stick in a 120gb for cheap please let me know as the 20gb will be easyer to get too
PS3 brilliant ive got a 20gb jap here in the uk to high customs tho £92.90 and the step down was 45 quid oh well its awsome

i don't think it will void your warranty. if it does and you are worried you could always settle for an external device. i'll try to find that in the online manual or something...

so does that mean you would be able to store things like game saves etc to a extrernal hd

Changing the HDD does NOT void your warranty in itself. However, if the PS3 gets damaged or whatever as a result of bad installion (on your part), or if the HDD somehow corrupts the PS3, then the warranty IS voided. But the chances of the HDD corrupting the PS3 is minimal, and if it's due to bad installion, well that's your fault anyway, and would be treated like any other mishap due to someone being stupid.

yeah it does are the hds ide or sata or are they a special type im really new to this only decided to get a ps3 last week as im from the uk luckly enough i have relitivles in america kind enough to wait in line for me

i dont think it would, i mean the ps2 didnt void your warrenty to add the HDD.. why would they give you the capability to add it, if that were the case? although it IS sony and they may try to get every cent they can out of you..
