Can I play an online game with an imported PS3?

I've searched this question but I couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. What if I buy an US PS3 and bring it to Europe and try to play an online game? Will I be able to play it or is there a restriction on this?

No, sony has restricted europe from playing online until it's europe release. Another thing you won't be bale to do is watch blueray movies from europe unless you buy US movies.

Thanx for the info. But after march 07 will I be able to play online with an import machine? Or the restriction will continue with the imported ones?

PS3 brilliant ive got a 20gb jap here in the uk to high customs tho £92.90 and the step down was 45 quid oh well its awsome

can someone confirm this as i have ordered a ps3 from america does this mean even when the european one comes out we wont be able to use on line cause if this is true i think ill cry lol joke be very annoyed tho
