I seem to have some virus in which it restricts my admin rights upon startup/loading of windows xp... i cant access command prompt cant ctrl alt dlt and similar admin capable rights. i work my way around it by placeing certain strings of codes into my RUN windows, but its a hassel thats causing some of my programs to malfunction. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Download HijackThis.
Unzip the file to a permanent folder.
Open HijackThis and click "Do a system scan and save a log file".
Post the log in your next reply and someone or myself will look over it.

First, I don't see an anti-virus running. Do you have one?
Note: print these instructions or copy to Notepad and save it, you will be in safe mode and can't access the internet.
Restart your computer in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu and press Enter).
Run a scan only with HjT, check and fix these.
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\scvhost.exe
F3 - REG:win.ini: load=C:\WINDOWS\system32\scvhost.exe
F3 - REG:win.ini: run=C:\WINDOWS\system32\scvhost.exe
Show hidden files and folders.
Start > Control Panel > Folder Options > View tab > check "Show hidden files and folders".
Click Apply, then OK.
Locate and delete this file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\scvhost.exe <--Note: Do not confuse with svchost.exe which is a legit file.
Restart in normal mode and post a new HijackThis log.

Yeah, it may be hard to remove. This is a relativity serious backdoor trojan. Could have possible opened a backdoor for a rootkit :( but we'll check that after we removed this scvhost.
Go here and download KillBox. Do not run it yet, we will later in safe mode.
Run a scan only with HjT and check these:

Close all windows except HjT then click "Fix checked".
Note: print these instructions or copy to Notepad and save it, you will be in safe mode and can't access the internet.
Restart your computer in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu and press Enter).
Open Killbox.exe.
Check "Standard File Kill".
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy/paste each of the following lines below one at a time. Then, click the red button with a white X after you enter each file.
You will be prompted to confirm, click "Yes".
Note: KillBox may prompt "File does not seem to exist". If so, continue with next file, but do not miss any.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\scvhost.exe
Exit KillBox and restart in normal mode.
Go to Virus Total file scan
Click "Browse" beside the "Select file" area.
Find and select this file:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\fzwk\fzwkm.exe
Click 'Send".
Copy/paste the results and save to Notepad.
Post the results in your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.

You didn't let the Virus Total scan finish. Please rescan the file and allow all 28 scanners to finish. When it is finished, at the top, inside the white box will read "STATUS:FINISHED". Then, copy/paste the results to Notepad and save them.
Then, go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall:
Viewpoint Manager
Next, download this 018RegFix to the desktop.
Extract the file to the desktop.
Double-click on 018Regfix.reg and click Yes when prompted to merge with the registry.
After clicking Yes you may delete the .zip and .reg files.
Then, run a scan only with HijackThis and fix these:

Okay, first that file you scanned is bad! I know this because there are no files on a Windows based machine named scvhost. There are svchost, but not scvhost. So delete the file scvhost.exe_.
Second, that wasn't the file I meant to rescan, but I'm glad you did, otherwise I would have never known it was on your computer since no scanners pick it out. If there any more files with the name scvhost delete them. Access may be denied when trying to delete. If so, delete them in safe mode.
The file I need you to finish scanning is C:\Program Files\Common Files\fzwk\fzwkm.exe so please rescan it.

Edit: Just found out that the file fzwkm.exe is in fact bad. I thought it was because of the random name. I'm not sure why none of the scanners are picking these things up.
Fix this with HijackThis:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [fzwk] C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\fzwk\fzwkm.exe
Then, delete the folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\fzwk <-End edit.
In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > change the "Security level for this zone" to Medium(not Medium-High or higher). Then, try running Kaspersky again.
If you still cannot run Kaspersky, run ActiveScan instead.
Go here to run ActiveScan.
Click "Panda ActiveScan.
Fill in the form with your information.
After downloading, click My Computer to scan.
When it finishes, click "See Report".
Click "Save report" and save it to the desktop.
Post back with either the Kaspersky or ActiveScan log.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Options > Security tab. Make sure Internet zone is highlighted and click Custom level.
Look for "Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls" and select "Enable"
Look for "Download signed ActiveX controls" and select "Enable".
Look for "Download unsigned ActiveC controls" and select "Enable".
Warning: These are very dangerous settings for IE. Do not go to any other sites while these setting are in affect. After downloading the ActiveX control for either Kaspersky or ActiveScan, reset these settings!

Let's go ahead and check for a rootkit, 'cause something is stopping you from running the online scans.
First, please make sure you change those settings back to what they were.
Download Rootkit Revealer from here.
Create a new folder, named RKR, in C:\
Extract the files to the new folder.
Open RootkitRevealer.exe.
Close all other windows and click the "Scan".
Important: Leave the computer idle while the scan runs.
When the scan is finished, click File > Save... to save the text file to the C:\RKR\ folder.
Post the log in your next reply.

Download ComboFix.exe to the desktop from here
Open ComboFix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

As a precautionary measure disconnect your internet first. Then, turn off SpywareSweeper and Zone Alarm. Also exit any unneeded programs. Be sure not to click anywhere while ComboFix is running. Close all open windows and please try again.

Hello again FCB. I knew ComboFix would show us something. :) The main parts of the backdoor are still active. Now, I haven't finished looking over you ComboFix log yet, but I wanted to get this info to you quickly because you need this off your computer as soon as possible.
First, I must warn you:
The backdoor you have is known as Ciadoor. It allows others control of your computer. Meaning that anything could have been changed without your knowledge and therefore, that computer's security is compromised. It cannot be fully trusted again without a reformat of the HD. But it's your computer and your choice. If you have the resources, I recommend you do so.
Anyway, on with the fix.
Restart in safe mode and delete these files:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wsock32.sys
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ckl009.dat
Restart in normal mode.
Edit: found something relativity quick.
Copy the following bold text into Notepad(Not Wordpad).
regedit /e C:\export-run.reg "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
Name the file Export.bat
Change the "Save as Type" to All Files and save it on the desktop.
Double-click Export.bat.
This will create a backup of the registry located here: C:\export-run.reg
Next, copy the following bold text into Notepad.
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer\run]
"Generic Host Process"=-
Make sure there are NO blank lines before REGEDIT4.
Name the file Fix.reg
Change the "Save as Type" to All Files and save it on the desktop.
Open the Fix.reg file and click Yes when prompted to merge.
Restart your computer and try running either Kaspersky or ActiveScan again. Please post the log if successful.
