i have a ps2 slim scph-75001 with a 3.5 external usb hdd 80 Gb western digital.i can get everything working fine loading the games with usb advance .elf. But i'm not happy witht the movies (intro's) is there anyway i can get to sped up or improve this problem ?

oracle 7 do you mind if i ask what method are you using with the external usb, or which boot cd are you using.

PS2 uses either USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 low speed, so its barely fast enough for games to run from with no way to fix it.

The PS2 usb ports are usb1.1 not usb2.0 (2.0 which reads much more faster). Unfortunately it's the you can't speed it up. Its that for life, unless you start loading it from DVDs instead if the HD

There is 2.0 low speed and 2.0 high speed, high speed has a huge speed advantage over both standard 2.0 and 1.1.
I discourage people from using USB HDD wherever possible, the PS2 hardware (mainly the USB ports) cant hack loading data at the required speeds for games.

Hey oracle7, what is needed in order to use a HDD with the slimeline PS2? Can you just tell me the precedures to do this. I know it will be really slow for games like the other posters mentioned, but i still want to try it out :)
