I am currently using Nero to burn my DVDs, I have very important information/files on them which i do not want ANYONE to have the chance to copy completely.

I was wondering how do I add copy protection to my DVD+R, how can I do this? I have heard of securom but thats just used by the distributors (sony)

Please help!

It's totally useless, so you're just wasting your times trying to encrypt your DVD+R or DVD-R disc. Even the big guys like Sony and Macrovision latest encrypted protections can be ripped.

Good luck on your journey.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

Sorry, i forgot to mention
The people who I give my discs to, only know how to straight rip using Nero but have no clue with bypassing any encryption.

I just need a link to a download which is easy to use or a way to add BASIC encryption techniques to the dvds.

just put the files on the disk in a ziped format and have them pasword protected, works every time, also if the files that you are puting on the disk have, very important information/files why would you loan them out? sounds kinda silly! or are they just movies that you have burned and don't want your friends to copy them?

Yeah exactly, although its games not movies.
I am trying to start making a bit of cash by selling burnt games at school, except people are copying them for eachother and it ruins my profit/audience

Any suggestions?

Um, are these games YOU'VE written or own the rights to? If not, then you are asking us to help protect your own piracy.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

So when kids at your school copy games and sell them it ruins YOUR profit/audience? What about the profit/audience for everyone else? Stores like BestBuy and Circuit City lose that business, Programmers for the company lose $, and everyone else in the line of production lose money.
So tell your friends to save their money and go buy the game. And if they can't afford it then tough love, doesnt give nobody the right to buy/sell pirated media.

hey maddux you can go buy one of those $2500 pioneer dvd burner( the cheapest one that allows burning of css) and possibly sony dvd architect software for about $2000 and tries to put your decryption
on your pirated dvd, although it is gonna do no good because companies with billions can't even stop it, so what makes you can do it.

also one more thing, you are going to get in big trouble doing this.

stop hoping, start loving.

You Mod's Spelled wolves wrong, As it is spelled wolves, not woves. Just thought I'd let you know. =D

@Maddux:I'm not going to flame, you for asking the simple question. But the reason for whitch you want it is pretty idiotic. Who sells burnt (Stolen/Pirated) games on cd. Then complains when they are stolen of him. Dude, if you yourself is ripping someone off, fine okay I don't care, but if you come here and B/M about you yourself getting ripped off... (People stealing your stolen goods) that is just dumb.

LOL, what a tool, schools need to bring back the cane or at least the naughty chair, this is what's gonna happen if the pre-schoolers don't start doing their homework and leaving the forums until they're all growed up -
