On those PS2 games that restrict access to broadband only, how good is online play? I've yet to play any games online but I've heard some bad things, should I expect problems even on these types of games?

Not sure exactly what problems you expect to have?

Depending on what you like, online play can be a lot of fun.
And depending on what you use and how you use it as well.
Like Xlink Kai for example only has a few PS2 games for online play in their system, and XBconnect is another one and i do not know if they support any PS2 games as none are listed on their site.
I play Xbox online with friends and PC online at times and it is a lot of fun. I love Co-Op first person shooters like Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six.
Racing games are a lot of fun as well.

The only problem i have run into with online play is when you just start a random game and let anyone in. There are cheaters out there and they ruin the game for you. For some reason they do not see how cheating can possibly ruin a game. But if you are on a system where you can set up private rooms for just you and a friend. Or even find a group or people online (gaming clan) to play with then you are set.
