Hey guys, one of the deciding factors on whether i get one of theese monster consoles is the region encoding. I know the ps3 will be backwards compatible with ps2 and ps1 but will it accept theese games from all regions? I currently have a PAL ps2 with a boot disc so i can play games i buy on trips to the states, i was wondering if the ps3 will eliminate all that hassle? If someone who gets one on release would be kind enough to have a look it'd be much appreciated.

Well the ps3 games wil be region free games but I think the ps2 nd ps1 are not although I am not for certain.

Well all of the ps2 games will work for everyone because everyone who has a ps3 system would have a ps2 NTSC games since the ps3 was released in north america...

but when ppl bring it to Eurpe and then games come out it will be PAL but fortunitly its region free.!

Ps3 games wont be PAL or NTSC since it is region free.

No the games will not be PAL at all you said they will be PAL but the ps3 can still play it.
