Hey, is said it a few weeks ago and turns out i was right:

Fortunately for the environment, there's no need to throw EZ-Ds away once they've expired, as Flexplay has arranged a recycling programme - in the United States at least - with a Missouri-based company called GreenDisk.

Actually it is a good idea for online rentals. However the cost seems to be prohibitive for such businesses...

It will only be good if people return the discs to the lender. Otherwise we have a real environmenal issue on our hands.

Just what our environment needs, a new stack next to the piles of refridgerators, tires and matrisses... piles of bloody useless dvd's..

Nice going, ppl dying of aids, muscle deseases, new forms of cancer every other day, and what do companies spend MILLIONS on, fukked up self desctructing media... Nice one guys... hope none of them get sick :)

I know, i know, going off in a tamdem, just annoyes me that money is wasted on stopping them making even more money every year off dvd's (we are being ripped off as it is), and all they can see is the bottom line (dollar line) and fuk the environment *grrrrrrrrrr*

come on, everyone else is doing it *grin*

Do they go opaque or are they still shinny on the write surface? IF still shinny, we can make mirrors and will see lots of new disc art. I like taking my old failed CD's and make candle holders and other fun stuff. But with DVD's I tried melting one and it burst into flames due to the high petrolum purple surface. I would not recommend any one putting a DVD disc (if purple write surface) into a microwave or toaster oven!
