I have a good question. Owner of company has a wall mounted flat panel plasma downstairs and wants to run cable tv on it ut also wants to have a tower hooked up to it so pwerpoint can run a presetation on the company once in a while. Does anyone have any idea on how i can go about setting it up so that when the cable tv is running, say every half hour the powerpoint takes over the tv, does the presentation, and then goes right back to cable?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've used PowerPoint to make overlay graphics for one video we're making with schoolmates. Couple ideas for You, if u have the required hardware in use (and I guess U do have at least one extra computer for running that PP show). If u can get the television program u want to computer via tuner/capture card or somehow, then just connect the flat panel to the computer's tv-out or if U can use, of course some better connection. Then make that PowerPoint presentation, now I can think two possible ways to do this, but haven't fully tried either of them.

First, You could make that presentation at least one slide showing blank, only overlay, so the television program would be the only visible thing on screen, and via timer events make that show run after a desired time. That could be done for sure, and maybe copy-pasting several times. But I think it is somehow (meybe there are even several ways) to start the show from beginnig and wait that dsired time before playing the slides again, but haven't searched for that kind of loop thing, at least I think VBScript or something can do that.

Second option I can think is some External timer program that would start the PP show every once and a while, and maybe exit the show, if it cannot set to exit after the show.

Other possibilities could be to record the slideshow and use some mediaplayer that can capture video and has playlist, so u can add the live capture and the recorded slideshow to it. Or If u or somebody else can make a program, that would draw the graphics similar to that slideshow over the captured video.

Hope this helps, and if u can, tell how it's working.
