So if im using hd loader or hd advance with a hdd on my ps2... Can i put game rips from torrents onto the hdd and play them, or does it have to be the original disc. Cause i have 2 games that I own, and they are a lil scratched up and wont play, so if i downloaded them and put them on the hdd. Downloading the iso image would be the same as ripping the game as an iso and installing it to the hdd right?

Another question i had was if i use a usb hdd on my ps2, can i then play the games from the usb hdd online? It shouldnt disable my adapter if im using a usb hdd should it?

should work just fine
with a USB HDD you need USB Extreme not HD Loader
Not real sure about the online part as i do not play PS2 online. But every ISO you make would have to be patched for the online play to work at all, even from a disc.
search for DNAS

ok, im thinkin of getting hd loader and hd extreme with a 120gb hdd. But i can get a 250 or something cause i heard the usb hdds on the ps2 can read as high as 1 terabyte.

not sure. i know when they first started making HD Advance there was a limit on the HDD size as it could only format like 128GB, like it was with Windows a few years ago.

but people now are using much bigger drives with HD Loader, i only looked at a few pages but i saw a 300GB Maxtor being used with HD LOader and it says it worked.
I really think anything above 300-400GB will just be overkill as you will never need that many games on your PS2. I have a 250GB in mine and do not even play 1/3 of the games on it.
