ok so i downloaded the "Gears Of War READNFO MULTi2 NTSC XBOX360-SuperX360" torrent using Bitlord and all is complete except the uploading (which shouldnt matter). i want to burn the image onto a DL verbatim but i cant seem to find the image file for the torrent. when i click openDir in bitlord, it opens properly but all i have are a bunch of sx-gowu RAR files, some of which may look incomplete but my download is 100%. i tried to use the xbox360 ss merger 1.6 and i tried to find the file thru there but i just cant seem to find the image file. im pretty sure it's a stupid mistake im making because this is my first time trying to burn a 360 image onto a DL dvd. can someone please tell me how to specifically burn the "Gears Of War READNFO MULTi2 NTSC XBOX360-SuperX360" torrent?

any help is appreciated.
thanks in advance.

If you're new, it's not a stupid mistake. You need WinRAR to unpack the files. Then you'll have your .000 and .dvd files to burn.

You don't need to do anything with ss merger. This release is already patched. Meaning it's ready to burn as-is. It'll usually state that in the .nfo but I didn't see it in this one. So I checked and others are confirming it's patched. Just unrar it with WinRAR, then use Clone CD, select the .dvd file (the small file) and burn at 2-2.4x. Just about anything available for dl now is already patched.

Wait a tic, ripper was saying 2.4x was way to slow, and to burn at 8x?

Ya, but he also said:

And BTW i'm not usually in these forums, not my area (Xbox/consoles); but some of the problems in here are down to dvd related issues, which is my area ;-)
I can't thing of anyone who's burnt a dl at 8x and posted their results.

2-2.4x is proven to be a perfect burning speed and a few members even stated success with burning at 4x. Alot of burners can't even burn dl's at 8x.

take advice from BHETRICK,burning at 8x is no good for xbox360 games and the speed stated is correct and works fine everytime i have over 20 back ups all burned at 2.4 or 4 speed and havent had any coasters and Gears of War that you have downloaded is ready to burn as mentioned above so burn away but keep to the speeds that work. 8 speed is good for ps2 or xbox yes not 360

I've burnt a game at 8x as a test and it worked. There may have been a few extra stutters here and there, but I'm not sure. COD3 was the game I burned. However, even though my burner is suposed to burn at 8x the actual speed seeemed more like 4x or possibly 6x. My rule of thumb has always been to burn at half the disc's max burn for best results. So I burn DL Verbatims at 4x for 360 games.

just open up the first file, should say sx-gowu.r01 or .001 or something like that, if it doesn't open WinRAR and it says choose from list then just direct it at WinRAR and just extract it, simple as that.

ok i extracted the sx-gowu file and attempted to burn the .dvd file of it...it took long, which was a good sign because its supposed to but when i put it in the xbox, the dvd couldnt've been read. im using an LG DL11 dvd burner, and im not sure if thats the problem...if anyone has an idea of what the problem could be, please correct my mistakes.

thanks in advanced

i do have a hitachi drive, and no i didnt flash it myself, it was done by a friend. besides that, i updated my burners firmware to DL13 and i attempted burning the sx-gowu.dvd again...and when i put the dvd in my 360, it didnt have trouble reading this time but it didnt really work. it opened up the 360's media player and had "track 1" on the right with the little screen of visuals on the left. i guess its progress but i still dont know how to fix that. any help is appreciated.
thanks
