Hi, I'm new at burning PS2 games, but I have the basics, but still having trouble.

I use Memorex 16x DVD+R discs, copy the game to the computer using DVD Decrypter. ISO Read, then ISO write. I've tried every writing speed on there, and I still can't get it to work on my Playstation 2. I have Swap Magic 3, and yes I'm using the DVD one! I did notice that after I burn, on the back of the disc there is two rings, one light section and one dark. Like it burned the game, but there was extra room. Maybe my Playstation can't read past the light section of the disc. My Playstation is fairly old, bought it 02, I think. Was wondering if the rings in the disc could be the cause of the problem. I've been trying to burn Madden 07, not sure if anyone else has had problems with that one. Are there any special settings I need to do in DVD Decrypter or do I need a different program? I haven't tried any other games, maybe Madden 07 needs different settings, I don't know. Any help would be great. Thanks.

What kind discs do you suggest then? Sony, Fujifilm, etc. DVD-Rs or DVD+Rs Is it just the discs or a setup problem?

Memorex give many people problems as they are not great quality.
And also 16X discs can give you problems.
And DVD+R can have problems being read by some PS2's, especially slimline models. That is if your burner doesn't have the option to booktype a DVD+R to a DVD-Rom, because that could really help.
Here are my suggestions.
1. Update your burners firmware to the latest version available
2. see if your burner can booktype a disc
3. get some quality 8X DVD-R discs and burn them with DVD Decrypter at 4X speed

my suggestions for first class media (according to media guides)
and so you know, where they put the "X" in the media ID there would be a number like Taiyo Yuden TYGO4
Taiyo Yudon (with YUDENT, TYG0x dye, many fakes made, make sure you are getting the real thing!)
Ritek (G03/G04 dye, many fakes made, make sure you are getting the real thing!)
Verbatim (with MCC02, MCC, MKM (DL) dye)
Fuji MIJ
Maxell (Japan) (with MXLRG0x dye)
Sony (Japan/Taiwan) (with SONY0xD dye)
TDK (with TDK, TTG0x, TTH0x dye)
