i have a modded slimline ps2 with a ghost2 v2 chip, which i bought off a mate. I tried playing a PES 6 online (original), which i bought from the shop and it came up with DNAS error 864.
HAving looked at what this error is and using a brand new copy of pes 6 - why is this happening. I only have one original game and have not tried any other backup games online.
However, my friend whom i bought it off told me he did try to play a backup game which was not dnas patched online, but it did not work.
Whats likely to be my problem, is there a chance my friend got the ps2 banned and if so how would you know?
if it is an original then it should work. You may want to look on the net and see about how to disable your chip, usually it is a controller button you hold.
Then give it another shot.
If it were a back up then yes, you would have to patch every one.
that is why i bought an Xbox, that way i can just get the Xbox version and pay online with no patching or problems at all.
next thing i would do is make sure all the network settings you have on the PC and PS2 are correct.
Also make sure you do not have any firewalls or antivirus programs that are blocking the connection.
And if you are using a router make sure that you look into
port forwarding. Some online applications and routers require you to forward certain ports for the application to work.
I have a belkin pre n router, but the ps2 is connected via a cable and i have set it outside the router firewall. I've actually tried connecting it directly to the modem, without the router and still the same problem.
I'm not sure of my ps2 connection settings, as i tried putting in the exact bulldog isp settings and it couln't complete the test, however when i set auto it did connect and said it was ready.
