Hi, I read your guide to ripping DVD's which was very descriptive. It does seem to take a long time and I was wondering if there are any 'one click' methods of copying DVD's to VCD.
Also, are copied VCD's region free?? If not, how can I watch a region 1 on a region 2 player?
VCDs don't have region codes, so all VCDs are region free, always.
There are tools that come close to "one-click" method, but not quite, since the process is somewhat more complicated than, for example, MP3 encoding. But even using the "hard way" or the manual method, is relatively easy if you have good guide.
Thanks. I agree that your guide was very clear but I just don't have the time unfortunately, I work about 12 hours a day, so to spend another 12 hours ripping and coding a DVD would be quite prohibitive to things like food and sleep.
I have downloaded the DVD2SVCD software on your site, but a firned suggested MovieJack (?). Do you have a preference or experience with either tool???
DVD2SVCD is an excellent bundle and I highly recommend using it. Unfortunately I don't have experience with its VCD encoding, but the SVCD backups made with SVCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2SVCD are absolutely stunning.
Well for the record, before using the guides on these pages I used three different packages and they all failed miserably. The guide may be a little more work, more different programs, but at least it worked!
Another one i found is called easy divx you can check out their website at www.easydivx.com. i have not used it personally but i have read about the process and it seems relatively straight forward and simple. I am literally using dvd2vcd right now to back up a movie. It has worked up until this point so try that as well
