--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I download quite a few Bit Torrents through a pay site and try to burn them to DVD. After initial success using WINAVI to convert, DVD Shrink and then IMage Burn. It worked well and I could play DVDs on My DVD Player. All of a sudden this does not work. Everything works well visibly and I get successfully completed messages but they no longer play in players. I have changed the medium (-+), used Verbatim and Maxell. Tried Clone DVD and now ISO DivX to DVD all with the same result. It is driving me nuts and costing a lot in discs. Any ideas????
Thanks in advance,
Cob

What model is your drive? It may just need a firmware update to recogines new disks. Also stick with Verbatim.

Does the converted file can be played perfectly? Or have you try the burn with winavi?

I have tried everything, converting with VSO div to DVD, WIn AVI, Image Burn, DVD Decrypter, Clone DVD. Each program says I have successful results. But I cannot play it in My DVD player. I have switched mediums, re-installed all the programs, defragged the disc checked the firmware on the disc to no avail. I do not know what else to do!

You haven't tried anything cos you haven't told me your drive model yet...

Help us to Help yourself ;)

Also, what media are you using "+r" or "-r"? Another thing, how old is your dvd player? Have you tried cleaning the laser in your standalone with some rubbing alcohol on a cotton bud?

You mean they can't be played by your DVD player, but did it can be played by your pc? If can be played on pc but not on dvd player, maybe you can check whether the region (PAL/NTSC) of your DVD disc is the same to your player?s,if not,you may need to change them to the same.
Good luck

I have tried to be logical about this. I have tried different DVD players, sometimes it will play on my computer sometimes not. Now I am trying TMPE Suite. The perverse thing is I get "sucessfully completed" everytime I burn something with different programs. In North America we are NT not PAL right? Maybe my burner is burning the wrong format. How would I check that?
