I read a while back you were looking for idea's to improve Afterdawn.com. I know that a lot of people, including myself, do not view all forum categories often, and many of them are really just in the way. I like to read and comment in the PC Hardware and Operating System forums, but I have to scroll so far down everytime I get back to the forum page. I was thinking, why couldn't you display each forum category as collapsable links. So really, all your choices would be right there with no need to scroll down. You click on the "Software, operating systems and more" and the seven forums in the category drop-down, and you take your pick. Or maybe in your account options, you have a menu to select which catgories to display at the top. I guess that would be more appealing to the entire userbase.

We have plans to allow several features on our site to be customized by our registered users and "hiding" selected discussion forums from the front page (and also from the "List of all updated threads" page and "Threads without replies" page) is one of those. The plan is to start working on customization bits and pieces early 2007.

:( I dont like the sound of that :(

Anyway, I was actually going to start a thread similar to this, but I guess there is not point now.
Why cant there just be a quick jump bar on the top like you have when you enter a forum section, unless there is already one, not that I can find it.

I dont like the idea of a collapse menu it just makes the page to complicated and makes it too full.

@BluRay

There is a drop down menu to the top right of the thread. You can click in that and it will drop down a menu that can take you directly to the room you want to be in.

Its to the right of the title of the thread.

@Borhan I have seen that already but I dont think that is there in the main section where you choose the forum section you want to go to.

@BluRay

I see what you mean. No worries. Well maybe that could be one thing they could do. I don't know how high on the list it is though.
