Problems playing US import game

Hey, i cant get my imported game from the US to play on my PAL ps2 (75004). I have SwapMagic 3.6 plus and magic keys 2. I opened my ps2 and pressed the switch down with duct tape, so part C is not installed.
I got a TOC error before, then i opened my ps2 again and fixed the duct tape, and now no longer get that error.
But now i still get a ''not a valid ps2 disc'' error.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
P.S. the game is Tales of the Abyss, not a backup but imported from the US.

I tried again with both Cd's, and now it does work! Guess i am just a noob, but at least i'm a noob playing a kick ass game.
Just wanted to say thanks anyway, for selflessly helping other people with their gaming problems.
