Would like information Hauppauge WinTv card?

I have a Hauppauge WinTv card. The trouble I have no idea of what all the options do, I got the card free but no instruction or manuals came withit. I downloaded the manual from the web site but they do not explain what the various options do.

The 2 program I have are WinTv2000 and WinTv32.

Is there some place that explain some of them?
It only seems to record in AVI but there options with all kinds of codec. What are these other items for?

I have been to the Hauppauge website and looked for information on how to use the card but I really can find any.

I have installed the card and all the software for it and it seem to record OK. I just want to know what all those other options are.
