Has any ine heard of or seena firmware for making sony burners region free? I rad in another post that pioneer has one for their drives, but does sony?

You dont really need one, theres plenty of software out there or you can just de-crypt with de-crypter either DVD2One to re-burn or re-watch it using powerdvd, though it is a bit of longer way.
