Hey everyone, I know this was touched on by someone else. I successfully backup a copy of DaVinci code last weekend and only got around to (trying to) watch it today, but the subtitle function seems to be gone. Is there a way when backing up a movie to ensure this function stays intact???

Hi shygirl13
Did you leave them? (not uncheck them) in Shrink.
If you used reauthor mode may want to do full disc leaving the subtitles checked.
Check out this thread and see what solution Car.Mike finds:

I've tested 2 methods and so far it worked with the English Subtitles when speaking French + Subtitle function/menu is still there:
(1) DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.3.8Beta (FREE and simple) + VobBlanker to get rid of all junkies (FBI Warnings, Trailers/Advertise, Extras/Features, etc.) except AC3 5.1-ch English.
(2) RipIt4Me (FREE and simple) + VobBlanker to get rid of all junkies (FBI Warnings, Trailers/Advertise, Extras/Features, etc.) except AC3 5.1-ch English.
Here RipIt4Me +DVD Shrink + ImgBurn full guide Just follow this guide slowly and you'll be able to rip any DVDs around the world.
Enjoy the new guide.

thanks everyone, I usually do not backup with the "sub pictures" ticked off..... I guess that stands for subtitles then eh? I re-tried backing it up again with the english subpicture box ticked and the subtitles are there!!! Thanks everyone for the pointers, you're all great.

You're welcome. I tried to detail it clearly and make it simple so newbies can follow it easily. Hopefully this new guide will help newbies or those that are having issue ripping new released DVDs and make DVD ripping easier.
