Hi all.

I just bought a brand new PS2 it's the latest version SCPH-77002, and had it professionally modded with a myth modchip.

However I am having problem with a game I have at the moment, final fantasy X.

Basically what happens is I can start the game fine, play to a certain area, the PS2 starts loading next area, but nothing happens at all, screen stays black, and after that it gets even weirder, the PS2 now will not boot that game at all, it will play all other games though. And if I leave the PS2 alone for a good 30min and try again, it will read the disc again but gets stuck at exactly same area.

At first I thought the problem was with the DVD, so I backed up the game and tried it out, it works perfectly fine on the backed up copy, then I gave the original to my friend (who has an un-modded PS2) to try thinking maybe the original disc is bad , but the game works perfectly on his !

Has anyone had experience with this ? the modder is keen to let me bring the PS2 back for examination, but before I do that, is there anything that I can try ?
