I've been posting on local boards looking for some information on how to get my hard drive running in my PS2.

I bought a PS2 about 3 days ago and it currently has a Maxtor 80GB Hard drive, but I have no clue how to get games on it or how to access the hard drive. It also has a network adapter attached to it.

My guess is that it has to connect to my computer somehow and I need some sort of software to run games off of my hard drive. Is there some kind of cable that I need to make that connection from PC to PS2.

What I have right now is a PS2 the regular RCA cables, power cables, 2 controllers, 2 memory cards. Is there something else that I am missing. Any help would be appreciated.

U can use a cross over cable to connect from pc to ps2.
But that is a big topic on how to connect to your ps2, and then once thats sorted installing the games onto the hdd though the network.

What I suggest, is pull the hdd out, and plug it into the pc. Then Download Winhiip. That is the program u use on your pc to install games onto the hdd (So u will need atleast a dvd-rom in your pc to make an iso image of the game). Winhiip also formats the hdd to be compatible for hdloader to. So beware what ever is on you hdd will be deleted.

Hdloader or hdadvance is the software you need to use it.
Now if you dont have any way of playing backup games on your ps2 then you probly wont be able to use hdloader, but u can buy hdadvance and use that. But I reccomment hdloader as I think it is a more updated version now.

But if you want the easiest way. Buy hdadvance. That can also format the hdd and install games through your ps2 drive.
