This started a few weeks back, but anytime i reauthor a movie(s) the preview window is all green. Is this something related to FFDShow? It's not messing with the video or the burned dvd. Anyone have any thoughts on how to correct this?

Hi uponthis,

A few things to check...

Check your Preview screen settings:
Edit / Preferences / Preview / "Select DirectX video renderer:"
Make sure it's set to "System Default Renderer".

Try Removing and reinstalling Shrink.

Try a System Restore. I'm assuming WinXP.

Test DirectX which is what Shrink uses as the renderer.

Go to:
Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Information / Tools

Click DirectX Diagnostic Tool

It will give you a bunch of info about your PC as well as perform DirectX tests.

Hey fasfrank

Ok, did what you told me to check and all came out good with the DirectX checks.XP sp2. The only thing i didn't do was run a sustem restore (not for sure how far to go back)
I uninstalled it. Now, when i tried to reinstall it gave me errors saying Access denied Cannot delete DVD Shrink (deleting the folder after i uninstalled it from C:/)Make sure file is not copy-protected and not in use. I kept triing to delete it and gave up because it kept giving me the same screen. So, i ended up putting it on the external drive and it's working now.I don't know what the problem is.
Thanks!

***Update***
I was able to delete the DVD Shrink folder this morning after the puter was off. Last nite i restarted the pc and then tried to delete the folder in the Programs Files and it wouldn't.

I'd still do a system restore. go back as far as you need to. You may be able to "go back in time", remove and then reinstall Shrink and then restore forward. I'd try it. I don't know if XP will "re-corrupt" files.... it's worth a try.

Finally gettin back to you about this. I uninstalled FFDShow and the preview window is back to normal. I will just go and download a much older version of it back onto my computer.
Thanks!
