Hi please be kind people as i'm a newb this is my first post.
And i have searched as much as i can for help.

Any how i have made lots of back ups of 360 games using clone cd with no coasters to date everything was working fine following tutorials i found here and elsewhere, until today that is.
Clonecd fails at about 4-5 seconds in. I have retried some older files which previously burned without a problem but still get the same error. Something has changed but i don't know what, I've tried a system restore but keep getting "system failed to restore to an earlier date".

I;m using clonecd on my liteon smh-165p

Any help would be much appreciated

Uninstall CloneCD and reinstall it.

Hi PS2Menace,
thanks for the reply just tried that, and it still fails almost immediately about 1-5 secs after starting to write, the discs are still blank after tho thank god or this would be costing a fortune.

Use ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter. You have to manually set the layer break though.

i've never had much success with DVD Decrypter it always has a power calibration error

so like PS2Menace said.. you tried to uninstall cloneCD and restart then reinstall? Usually that will work..

hi m8...i had a similar problem with clone cd doing that and i couldnt get my system restore to work either..and i found out that it was a virus on my pc and a load of spyware had got on my system and it was stopping my pc from setting it back,obviously whoever was hijacking my pc with their unwanted shat didnt want me to go back,so i ran the latest spyware software and antivirus in safe mode,cleared off the crap and rebooted and then it allowed me to do a system restore,i then re-installed a few programs including clone cd and all is fine,install clone cd version 5.2.9.1 if you havent already after trying spyware/antivirus removal..it may work

Another good tip. Always format your main OS HDD about once every 6 months. Nothing like a fresh install to get everything running fast again.
