Just read this news from X-B
Quote: Upcoming Xtreme 5.x details
>> Commodore4eva has given me some updated information on the upcoming xtreme 5.x series for the TS-H943. ETA on release is a few days.
Upcoming features!
* Single Layer SS support for both XBOX1 and XBOX360 games!
* XBOX360 File based iso support (no more raw dumps)
So, for some clarification this will NOT allow you to use your previously backed up XBOX1 games on the xbox360. This will however allow you to reburn your games to another single layer DVD-R with patched SS,DMI,PFI so it will be functional. XBOX360 file based iso will still require SS,DMI,PFI + Video.iso for media stealth (and just SS/video for basic functionality). This also means that many xbox360 games will now work on single layer disc's! FEAR is only 3.9GB file based (as opposed to 7+GB RAW dump), and GOW is 6.2 *including* the video stuff!

I don't get it. Majority of the Xbox360 games are over 4.7 GB which is the capacity of a single layer DVD, so how will they fit it?

There are some games that are DVD-5 but they pad it to make them DVD-9. This will allow XBOX1 backups ripped with the xtreme method to be put on DVD+R instead of the DL now. A few 360 games may fit on DVD5 as well. I'd still rather do a real copy than a squashed one.

It'll be nice for xbox 1 backups (but those will still need ripped from the originals). Plus, if there's any 360 games you want to use for Live, then you can rip out the "movies" and just use a $.34 ty.

Well that's just an example. You wouldn't need all the cutscenes, different languages, making the game, etc, etc, so there are some games which may fit on a single layer.
With GOW, I would leave it just as it is because I thought it was an excellent game in single player mode. I've finished the easy mode and I'll move on to the harder modes in the near future.
With COD3, while it's a great game, to me it's still JUST another WW2 shooter. In single player mode I get bored quickly. But when it comes to playing online, I'll pick COD3 over GOW any day. So if I could rip it to fit on a DVD+R, that'd be perfect for me (and I'll save the $2.00 verb for another game).
