I don't even know what type of file it is. It is just listed as a video clip. It plays on my PC fine, but I've tried on my DVD player and just get root menu and can't play it. It is less than 700mb, I think you were supposed to put it on a CD-R, but I only have DVD+R right now. I just want to make sure I'm doing it right before I give up on watching it on tv. I have Nero 7.0. What are the steps? What is the right mode?

P.S.
Since I'll have so much room left over could I put other small movies on the disk and still watch them in my DVD player?

If it's 700mb then it's probably AVI format, heres a basic guide on how I burn my AVI and MPEG files using NeroVision

no conversion necessary, let Nero handle it.

Note: The 700mb will probably end up at around 4gb after Nero does it's comversion

I tried that and got the following error:

One or more files could not be added to a compilation.

The following files may not reside in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD-Video compilation. Only compliant DVD-Video files
VIDEO_TS.IFO,
VIDEO_TS.VOB,
VIDEO_TS.BUP,
VTS_nn_0.IFO,
VTS_nn_0.VOB,
VTS_nn_0.BUP and
VTS_nn_m.VOB
can be added to the VIDEO_TS folder. Please add files from a completed DVD-Video title or use an authoring software like NeroVision Express to create DVD-Video files from standard video files such as *.avi and *.mpg.

F:\Santa Clause 3\orc-santa3tsrp.avi

For the guide to work you must add the AVI or MPEG files to NeroVision prior to any conversion...if your files are like as you say then the conversion has been done via some other method.

How do I do that? And I have Nero 7.0 Premium not Nero vision. Unless I'm missing something.

Open Nero StartSmart and it should look like this




click where arrow points and then you will get this




Click on applications and then select NeroVision and then follow guide.

There is an excellent guide by one of our Addicts, alkohol, it's in my sig...just click on the link.

One more question: How does a 700mb AVI file become a 3GB movie? Is it compressed like a RAR file?
