OK i just got my dream tv today, the samsung 32' lcd HDTV found here. I've connected my xbox 360 to it through the original cable provided when i first got. now for my questions:

1. what is the difference between 720p and 1080i, and which is better to play games?

2. what is the difference between component, hdmi, and vga connections, and which one is best for viewing games?

hello

i have the same tv as you my friend and have been playing in 1080i hi-def since it hit the stores a few months back and out of the 2 settings the 1080i is the better of the 2,and as for the outputs then hdmi is good but vga is far better the same connection as a pc monitor.i have been playing games like Gears of War and Need for Speed Carbon and they look amazing in 1080i..choosing the 720i rathe r than 1080i is like using a pc monitor and choosing to play games in 800 by 600 rather than say 1280 by 1024 you just wouldnt do it..

so play in 1080i as its there for you and choose vga,this depends what lead you have of course,either way its a beautiful tv so have fun in hi-def,nothing like it

There ya go about the 720p and 1080i. I play my games on the 360 in 1080p. Before the fall update, I did 1080i.

Here's some differences between the connections. I use component.
