Any one got any advise on this searched about it with Google found so much conflicting advise knocked it on the head.
I want to remote connect to my pc at home from work I've got the Vnc server software on my pc at home running and the Vnc viewer on my thumb drive when I try to connect from work get server couldn't connect ?
I can connect to my pc from my Sons pc which is in the next room at home but doesn't work when I try it at work. The pc at work is connected to a router and goes through a proxy server on port 80.The vnc viewer try's to connect on port 5900, at work the pc can browser must websites but has got some sort of restrictions for some sites its got some web sense policy blocking software which blocks certain sites at specific times of the day it lifts these restrictions i.e. dinner time and after hours I've tried the software putty doesn't seem to do nothing unless I'm doing something wrong. Does any know of a straight forward way to fix this or is it not that simple due to the set up at work please don't advise me about any hacking tools or any thing like that don't wont to bring the company network down cheers.
Don't know if this makes any difference but my Sons pc at home is connected to a router which does have a hardware firewall all the pc's at home are connected to the router. like I said no tips on how to hack crack etc its quiet at the weekend at work, work on my own thought it would be handy if I could remote connect pass abit of time make the day go quicker.

In order for you to access from work to home, you will need to port forward from your work (assume wireless) router, but since you cannot access your router from work this may not be the best option VNC for you.

I personally use logme.com free edition and I do not need to port forward anyhting. Check it out and you will like it. Good luck!
