when i turn on my laptop ill let me choose which windows i want to start my options are windows xp pro or windows xp pro there both the same but i was wondering if there is a way i could get rid of one or have that screen not appear

I've dealt with this before and do know how to fix it, but before I do that, if you would, please open my computer, go to tools, folder options, View tab. Uncheck the options "hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" also select the following option "show hidden files and folders" and then hit apply, then OK. Once you get that done, open the file boot.ini and paste the contents here, I'll figure out which one is your correct option and tell you what to do to make that screen not show.
