when you return an open xbox 360 at walmart or any other major retailer do they take the face plate off to see if your MICROSOFT sticker is still in place ??? or do they just take a look at the console and inspect it without checking out the warrenty sticker????? thanks

hmm,never thought of that,i know they scan the serial number to see if the system was bought at one of there stores

Remember the original PS2 which all the drives failed to read after 6 months? I fixed this by buying another, putting the old broken one in the box and returning it for full refund (don't hate me, I was much younger then, I swear I'd never do it again :P)
I think I may have been the reason they give each unit its own specific barcode now vs. a universal code that generically says XBOX.
Also to insure the unit hasnt been a failed mod experiment.

people at walmart dont know what they are doing. 50% doesnt even check the serial number. i bought my 360 at walmart and the person didnt even scan the seral number at checkout, lol if i returned it there is no serail verification.

btw: thats the reason i bought one at walmart, so if i screwup flashing i can exchange it.
