HELP! My backup only booted once and never again.

I have my Samsung MS25 drive flashed with the lastest Xtreme. Have a Pioneer DVR111D burner and here's how it went down.

I burned a Splinter Cell: DA disc on a Memorex because it's all I had, my Verbatims haven't arrived yet. Used IMG Burn and popped it in the 360. It's my first backup, and bam, it works. The game tells me I need an update, fine, I DL the update. Everything works so I play some Spies vs Mercs online. After an hour or so, I take the disc out to write a lable on it, with a marker, not a sticker. When I put it back in, it won't boot. Why? I even went to Comp USA to get better media, all they have is Memorex and TDK, so I get the TDK's, this time I burn with CloneCD, still no boot. This would not suprise me as all the steps to get this far have been hit and miss, but it booted the first time and played fine so I confused. Please someone help me troubleshoot this, I'm pretty smart and have run out of ideas.

I just bought some Verbatim disc, I have some coming but can't wait, it's driving me crazy that it worked, but it won't again. When I get off work I'll try it again. I think it was the TDK disc, even though people are saying they use them and they're good, I read elsewhere that some TDK are crap. Hopefully the Verbatims work. Has anyone ever heard of this though, a perfect boot and played on Live but won't boot again?

Memorex are crap discs for any use. I think you'll be happy with the Verbatims when they arrive. Let us know how you make out with them. I want to flash my 360, but not sure if I'm smart enough to figure it out, lol.

That aside, it's weird that the backup only worked once. Did you check the bottom of the disc in case the 360 scratched it?
It does seem that Memorex is no good. I've got both Verbatim and Ritek, and they work fine.
