i have have the latest firmware.. 4.2b and I am interested in now backing up my games.. i have downloaded the file i need to complete the rip in a one step process.. my question is.. i have burned the CD with the 0800 firmware.. i guess this enables the drive to be seen in windows.. well i cannot figure out what the correct way to do this would be. I would like to know how to get the drive recognized in windows.. do i have to put the 0800 disk in the xbox drive or in the pc drive?.. please help me out.. thanks

the 0800 is that the kreon firmware???

i have created two good guides , really easy to follow but they are on another forum using schtrom360extract and xbox backup creator and i cant add a link.

I'm not sure but the 0800 disc goes into the 360 console. I know that much. I'm alot better with a Hitachi drive. Here's how I think it works...
Have DVD connected to PC SATA port
Put 360 0800 disc in 360 drive.
Turn on 360
Wait 15 or so seconds
Turn on PC.
