Shoey, Nero 6 Ultra Edition became avaible to the public as of today, Friday July 18,2003..

Personally I dont like Nero 6.. Too damned bloated with extra 'features' for my liking.. Then again Nero always has been needing some improvement ~laffs ~

When I get around to actually installing and using Nero 6 , I'll have maybe a different opinion.

I think Nero is the best 4 general burning, especially the new version 6.
Sure it is somehow bloated but not at all compared to Easy Cd Creator (or whatever its called)...

I'm well aware of that m8. So far I don't like the "new" Nero..........

If I had my choice between the 2, I would run Nero and toss Easy Cd Cre(a)mator out da window or give it to the homeless as a "good deed"?

Well, isnt it quite hard to find a non-bloated allround-burner that ya can backup files regurarly..?
Ive heard of Cakewalk Pyro too but that one seems also bundled with a thousand features.
I have very bad experiences of Easy Cd cuz its like its after to trash down the whole system or something...

Not really m8. Paddus DiscJuggler Pro is excellent for "all in 1 burning" but I'm literally afraid of snakes, especially "green ones" (hehe). Very complex cd burning application but gets the job done (Paddus DiscJuggler).

Well, I think Disk Juggler is pretty hard to learn...

But I guess it is very good when one figure out how to use the different settings...

This is the history as i understand it: the BIN/CUE format was created by a company called GOLDEN HAWK TECHNOLOGY. They made a program called CDRWIN (now referred to as CDRWIN3). Later on another company, i think it might have been Padus Technology came and through some legal crap, made a program called CDRWIN as well but based off the Padus Discjuggler "engine" (this is now referred to as CDRWIN5). Golden Hawk was pretty quiet for sometime now until this summer they released an update: CDRWIN 3.9d. I havnt used it but I think this update is pretty much like CDRWIN 3.9c except it adds compatibility for newer drives (because CDRWIN 3.9c only supported up to like 32x drives). If ever you hear about CDRWIN4, that would, to my knowledge, be created by Padus.

Double vision is saying it lightly hehe! Anyways, a quote from the Nero people:
Quote:
Due to high demand, features originally slated for future versions have now been brought forward in time to add even more value to this already impressive suite. Stay tuned for the new web release, now scheduled for July 25th. Included will be "Special Project" Nero Recode!
So whatever you make of that.....

Sound like it is going to be more top heavy than I originally thought. But I will be willing to try the trial to see how it works.

Personally I like it... I migrated from Discjuggler3 to CDRWIN5. Try out their demo... see if you like it. I have found that CDRWIN5 is something ppl either hate or love... very few in the middle for some reason.

Hmmm postponed the release of Nero 6 did Ahead? Aka meaning to add more bloatware.. The more interesting question is - if Ahead postponed the offical release of Nero 6 UE then version did Ahead send to me? packaging says Nero 6 UE blahblah not the upgrade from 5.5.10.xx.. Have yet to install it yet anyway.

Praetor , I use Nero 5.5.10.35 Entrprise Edition at the moment to handle 1/3 of my daily general burning needs.. there are some tasks I dont trust Nero to handle so I also imply the services of Alcohol 120% and for sheer easy and simplicity of it - Alto MP3Cdmaker.. Gets the job done without the fancy bells and whistles of Nero.
