well i have a compaw v3000z laptop
and i tried to use my s-video output to connect my laptop to my tv. i know its not the cable cause i used it with my sisters laptop and it worked but i wanna use mine. does anyone have an idea of why it doesnt work at all? theres no slight detection or anything i even tried resetting and turning it off. please help

if it has an ati video card you need to go to control panel, display, settings, advanced and select tv as the video out under displays/monitor. If you have an nvidia sometimes they work on boot up finding new displays but the above steps may be needed also.
