Hi,

I have two DVDs that are about 1-2 GB in size each, and I'd like to combine them into one. I've searched the forums and found a way to do so using DVDShrink, but I was just wondering if there's any way to preserve their menus (or even make a new menu)? DVDShrink seems to automatically strip away the menu anytime it's re-authored.

Or if you have NeroVision Express you can add the VOBs and then create your own custom menu.

You must be a mind reader of sorts, thats the exact program I need but I want to ask: How much does that program cost ?( I tried checking on the site, but you have to sign up) and well I'm not a big fan of signing up everytime I hear about a cool program... especially when all I want to know is the bottom line, the $price$. And as far as Nero's Vision Express, I absolutely love it but my free trial ran out :( and I don't have any plans of spending 80 bucks to do what I need to do.. lol I would rather just buy more blank media (it's a hell of alot cheaper!!)

Nevermind.. I was looking in the wrong place.

You can purchase DvdReMake Pro for $49.95. Once you become a registered user of the DvdReMake Pro you will be entitled to free bugfixes and minor upgrades and fare discounts (at least 60%) on major upgrades. A minor upgrade is where the version number changes only after the first point ("."). An example of a minor upgrade is from version 1.0 to 1.1. A major upgrade is where the version number changes before the first point ("."). An example of a major upgrade is from version 1.1 to 2.0.

I guess I'm a penny pincher, that's more than I want to pay for what I'm wanting to do, but I definetly think such a program is worth it.

I can understand not wanting to pay that much for software, but I can also assure you that DRM Pro is worth every penny. Of course for me it's as much about learning the details of DVD structure that makes it such a valuable program. It's the best tool I've found for editing DVDs (especially menus) so I use it for a lot more than joining (which I've really only done to play around).

Oh, I think it's absolutely a beautiful program, and I'm sure I will end up getting it before it's all said and done. But it's one of many processes that I am looking to do. For instance I am also looking for a program that can merge multiple video formats, and layer my own sounds, music or whatever into the clip and or video itself. I guess a mastering program of sorts. I have read about a few but for the price of such programs, it's hard to really search around and find exactly the right one. Hundreds and 2 hundreds of dollars is alot to gamble w/ on a program your not sure does everything you want it to do. As far as the actual merging of multiple video formats, thats not as important to me as just being able to add anywhere from 10-30 individual different clips and layering my own music. I can deal w/ the pains of converting one format to another if need be. I guess in due time.. I will find exactly what it is.. I am looking for.. till then, I would like to thank you for your response.. it's much appreciated
