SATA chipset

I have read a few guides now but I am still not sure if my SATA chipset will work!!!!

On the manufacturers site it says its - Northbridge: VIA P4M800
- Southbridge: VIA 8237R

What does northbridge southbridge mean exactly?

I used bios agent and it said it was VIA 82C314 rev 0


Does anyone know whether it will work with the samsung and/or hitachi drive?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Usually the northbridge southbridge are positions on your motherboard. Doesnt really matter to be honest. What does matter, is that chipset will work. You should be able to use the standard MTK flash. However, you may need to use the hex edited MTKflash for via chipset. Cant link you to either of those, but google will show you the way.

Edit: That chipset will defo work with the Sammy, not got a scooby about the Hitachi though
