Hi, I have been reading up on possibly using a HDD for my ps2, I have Swap Magic 3.6 and the magic keys installed in my ps2 and I was using a Western Digital 80 Gig HDD, and I am having the back-ups on the HDD, which is a USB hdd, but I have been reading up on things such as USB Extreme, Advance, etc. I am wondering, is it possible for me to do this? I have read up on having to format your HDD for use in the ps2, but will I lose all the games I have on my HDD already? And if not, well how can I do this because it will save a lot more time and effort then just burning the DVDs because my burner is all messed up. If someone could reply and please give me some instructions on how to do this, I am sure that there is a thread somewhere in here, forgive me if I am one of a million posters to ask this. Someone let me know as soon as possible, thanks in advance.

It's possible and yes formatting your HDD will loose all the stored games you have but if you can get it attached to your pc and maybe transfer the games to your computer and transfer them later then you could do that... I have heard some pretty bad things about using a HDD on a USB slim PS2 mainly that ALOT of games will not work properly on it :(

So should I just not do it completely? I like the idea but if thats the case then should I avoid it?

I'm in a very similar state of mind right now lol i'm thinking of fixing mine to do the same but from what i hear the compatibility list is very low so i'm not so sure, I mean if you don't use the HDD then maybe you could try i'm sure it won't hurt since you already have all the tools required but as for me i need to get myself a HDD and i don't know if i should waste my time or money...
