can i use a usb modem to get my xbox 360 on line there is a usb port above to the the modem slot and can you tell me the best way to put my 360 on line the cheapest way

well the cheapest way is through LAN.. the box can be plugged directly into the router.. or straight out the modem.. best bet is staright from the router.. the next best way is the usb modem.. it is wireless.. so you need a wireless router.. they run about 60-80 on ebay.. probably cheaper..

You can get on live with your usb modem, however you will need a crossover cable connected from the LAN port on your computer to the LAN port on your 360. You then need to sort out the ip addresses and enable internet connection sharing (ICS). I previously used this setup before I got my router. Its a little bit of a hassle but it does the job.

Im affraid you'll have to google for more answers as I cant find a link atm but I will post back if I find one.

Should do you fine, if you live in the UK of course! If not, ebuyer have a US store too. As long as the router has at least 2 ports and a built in modem then you'll be fine. You can pick wired ones up for next to nothing these days. ebay may be another option as a lot of ppl are selling their old wired setups after upgrading to wireless.

Remember, you wont need a router to get on live, your usb modem will do the trick. Some simple networking from your pc to 360 will do the trick, like i said in my last post :)
