I got the PS3 to enjoy HD games and movies, my TV has DVI and VGA inputs only (Sony TV) and I have not being able to connect them together. I tried a HDMI to DVI cable, and adaptor, the old AV to VGA cable for PS2 (this one gives a green screen).
Has anybody encountered this problem? any solutions?

BTW the ps3 works fine with a regular TV.

just buy a hdmi to dvi canle of of ebay not to expensive this should fix your problem

Did you change the setting in the ps3 system settings to hdmi? I have a dvi cable with a hdmi adapter and it works fine. I noticed that since I changed to the hdmi setting if I hook it up using the component cable it doesn't work. Also make sure you have your audio on the component still because dvi inputs do not have sound.

Yes, I have changed the settings in the PS3, guided by the ps3 support people over the phone, they suggested that the plasma monitor (FWD-50PX2)could be the problem. Later today I spoke with the support people from this Sony department and the monitor is working just fine, this people really believe that the PS3 is defective! They said that the HDMI to DVI cable should work and it is not.

I got the Belkin cable HDMI to DVI and it works, the problem is resolved. I can say now for sure that the resolution of the PS3 is better than the XBox 360, I just saw it!
