This may be posted somewhere else, but I was uanble to locate a thread with the info I need. I am trying to copy a DVD that was previously copied with DVD Shrink. To this point I have been unsuccessful. I have tried using DVD Shrink and it will not read the dvd, and Nero will not copy it either. It says that it is not in the correct format. I am using the DVD video portion of Nero and it will not read some portions of the file. Does anyone have any info that may be useful? Again I apologize if this subject has been covered in another thread. Thanks

all i ever do is use windows copy/paste of the video_ts folder (as the encryption's already been removed from the first copy), then burn as a 'dvd-video' compilation in Nero Burning Rom

Hi Bigtamw65,
This is the way I like to make a copy of a copy....
Run Nero smartstart and hover your mouse over the "backup" selection above, then hover over the "copy DVD" selection, on the left side choose to open with Nero express as shown from the dropdown menu;

Click on the green arrow to open Nero express as shown;

Make your choices as shown, that's it.

Can you try the following to see if it works:
Insert the dvd into your drive.
If it comes up with the auto options of what do you want to do choose open folder.
Other wise go to MY COMPUTER and then open explotre or open the folder so you see the contents.
Hoepfully you will have either a VIDEO_TS folder and a AUDIO_TS folder. (or just the VIDEO_TS is fine)
Just drag and drop this into your desktop area.
It may be a bad disk that cant be transferred accross due to bad original burn or bad disk or just a scratch or something.
If you can get it to your hardrive you should have no problem is using Nero ro similar program to burn it to a new disc.
I would use Nero, choose the make a Video DVD Compilation file option (make sure you are in DVD mode not CD mode)
Open the VIDEO_TS folder that is shown in Nero, then go to ADD FILES, select the original location on your desktop and highlight inside that folder all of the files, VOB,IFO,BUP should be in the folder.
Click OK, set your destination to yur blank disc in the DVD writer and tehn select a slow burn speed such as 4X
This shoudl work. Any other problems then please post your step by step to what you jsut did.
the general ruile is if you get it on your harddrive with no problems you should be able to put it back to another disc.
of course, if you have the disc and two drives you should be able to choose the copy entire disc option in Nero (still in DVD mode) and that should do it too.
Should be no need to use DVD Shrink as you have effectively got the file shrunk already. Is it on a siungle layer disk by the way?
Also what media are you using?
First though, make sure you can get the disc contents onto your hardrive, it will save making coasters out of your DVD when they keep failing!
Post back to let us know how you got on!

I will try that when I get home, I did notice that some of them were a little older, used good media, but I used DVDXCOPY Platinum. I will try getting it to the desk top and go from there.
