is there a guide somewhere out there for this? im all out of dvds and im 2 lazy 2 buy more, and i want to play state of emergency again lol. i have some cd-rs laying around, and i was wondering if there is a way to convert a ps2 dvd game like state of emergency, so it can b used and played as a ps2 cd game instead. any1 know? any help would be gladly appreciated :D.
I don't think there is a "guide" on doing that because different gaes have different structures so you may need to rip certain parts maybe too much out yourself.... think about it a cd-r holds 800MB... the average game is around 3GB+
thought state of emergency was on cd?
anways,if it aint,it is possible, because my copy is on cd
would need to dig it out to see what was ripped from it
a dvd game put on a cd is called a "dvd rip"
you need to rip out as much as you can so it can fit on a cd,then you need to patch some files to cd,to insert cd checks instead of dvd check's.
but do yourself a favour, and stop being a lazy git,and go and buy some dvd disk's,because ripping dvd to cd to too much hassle :)
haha well but the state of emergency is already small enough to fit on a cd-r, i just dont know how to convert it or whatever. and yea i think the version i downloaded WAS from cd-r but they converted it to dvd, im not sure. but i tried it once and it didnt work, just hung on a black screen :(. so no1 knows how to do this? might as well go buy sum dvds then lol thx anyways dudes
if its small enough to fit on a cd disk, then you can use a cd disk
you need a program called scanlite or console media patcher
extract all the files from the image using isobuster
using the scanner tick the cd tab, then scan the sles/slus file, iop file
then rebuild the image using Nero burning rom using the udf/iso option, with the main tab set for cd
or you can use cdgenps2,but use the correct order for the files,as they first appeared in isobuster
