halo: combat evolved does not work on XBOX 360!!!! Why Not???

I bought a 360 about two months ago and was very glad to see that halo was supposed to work on it so I bought the game. Everything works on the game except the multiplayer: the only reason Ibought the damn game. I don't understand it. I can create profiles, play the campaign mode and set up a multiplayer game but right when i click to start the multiplayer game, it freezes!!! I borrowed my friends game and it did the same thing. Does anyone know what is going on??? Please help me cause wal-mart is not gonna take the freaking game back.

well for starters have you even updated your console with the BC update?
If not,you have 2 options:

1)Download the update from Xbox.Com,burn to a CDRW,put it in 360,update.

2)Connect to xbox live and automatically get the updates(If you dont have xbox live or you dont want to get an account there,just go to network settings in the 360s dashboard and check test live connection.When the console get to the actual live connection testing,it will download the updates)

If youre on dial up,well,i suggest you go with the first option.
