can anyone post me a link to info on which soft mod methods work best with a ps2 slimline

i dont want to chip my system with a soldered chip just yet, i was going to wait until i can do it properly but i need specifically some soft mod method that will correctly allow me to play imported european PAL games and american backup disks

see im wanting that game singstar but not the rocks version i want the other versions only available in europe and a few other places but not the us, so i want to be able to play the discs on my ps2

i heard of using swap magic and covering some sensors with special stuff you get with it but wasnt sure where tog et this from or how its installed any info on this would be awsome

any help is greatly appreciated thanks
