I'm sorry if the following issues had been discussed or answered before.
I had some problems with my Xbox 360 lately and i got confused a lot. My 360 was manufactured in November 2005. I bought it on Feb 2006 from Germany. Until the last month i did not have any problems. Unfortunately things did not go well.
3 Weeks ago i had my machine's dvd rom drive flashed. (Hitachi). Afterwards all the games i played (Both original and backup games) started freezing randomly. For example when a backup game was running for 4 hours without no problems an original dvd was locking after 5 mins. However sometimes originals did not cause any problems, and backups locked me up randomly. There were no graphical disorders with the lockups. Only the games were freezing with that moment's screen.
last saturday i turned my device on and it locked up without reaching the dashboard. I realized that i left a dvd inside. When i removed the dvd, 360 booted up well. After the boot i had no problems playing either backup or originals.
And yesterday night. I turned on my device, inserted Fifa 07 (original) and started playing. 2 mins after inserting the dvd, the screen went black with a sharp clicking noise and the 360 locked again. However, unlike the previous lockups this time the screen was black. I rebooted my device like i did with all the previous locks. Unfortunately this time my 360 showed me the three red lights. I use my 360 in a vertical position and all the red lights except the upper right one were flashing. Rebooting again or trying the methods at the microsoft's website did not do any tricks on it.
Is my Xbox 360 dead ? Can flashing a dvd rom drive cause game lockups or threee red ligths of death ?
