What is the advantage of purchasing this drive? (i.e. what steps are skipped in the backup process due to the ability to read xbox 360 games)

with the sammy u can stright rip the 360 games instead of having to patch it with XBOX360 SS Merger. it saves alot of time and it olny cost like 30$ or so.

I use the 162c myself and trust me, it is WELL worth it. You will probably be hard pressed to find one at a retail store though. I ended up paying a bit more for mine, like $60 CAD from a reliable source with great turnaround, recieved the day after I paid from out of town.

If youare interested in his details, he ships to the US as well, could give you his co-ordinates, let me know.

Definitely though, don't waste time, just do it, then its one single click in XBOX Backup Creator to backup to an ISO image. Very easy!
