Not NTSC...but apparently Not PAL

I recently bought a dvd online and when I received it I tried to watch it. My DVD Player returned the error Not NTSC. I tried it in my xbox thinking that if it truly wasn't NTSC it wouldn't play on my NTSC TV Right? Well, it worked fine, so I figured, must be the region code, so I ran it through DVD Decrypter and removed all region code....same error, still works fine in my xbox. I use DVD RegionX for the xbox, and a Toshiba SD-3750 for my dvd player. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
