It supports a high enough resolution but I think you will need a new monitor because of HDCP (High Definiton Copy Protection). You will need a monitor that supports HDCP and has a DVI-D connection.

I didn't see anywhere on this page that said that your monitor supported that, sorry.

I think you'll also need a high-end graphics card with HDCP and software that will play HD-DVD's.

Yes I forgot about that, and these

Windows XP
Windows Media Player 9 Series
2.4 GHz processor or equivalent
384 MB of RAM
64 MB video card
1024 x 768 screen resolution
16-bit sound card
Speakers

Optimum Configuration
(to play 1080p video with 5.1 surround sound)

Windows XP
Windows Media Player 10
DirectX 9.0
3.0 GHz processor or equivalent
512 MB of RAM
128 MB video card
1920 x 1440 screen resolution
24-bit 96 kHz multichannel sound card
5.1 surround sound speaker system

Exclude the Media Players though, and I think you may need vista but I'm not sure.

Edit: The thing I read about needing vista I think was only for the HP HD-DVD drives coming out not hacking the 360 one.

Someone told me you can plug it directly into the USB port of your PC, and it'll work if you have software to play it (decoders, etc.)

I herd that too a while ago but since they came out I haven't herd anything else about it. If Microsoft releases drivers for it like they did with the 360 controller than it will work easily.

Edit: I just read a post that said that the 360 drive works on PC, but you will still need HD requirements, and apparently you have to have Vista to be able to watch HD-DVD on your PC.

How much do you want to spend, and how big do you want it to be?

Also you may want to look at this link too.

It will work and it is a nice monitor. But if you are going to watch HD-DVDs they will be in widescreen. That isn't a widescreen monitor so if you don't want black bars on the top and bottom of your screen you may want a widesreen. However if you don't mind that monitor looks fine. If you do want a widescreen I would recomend one of these.

Here's a tutorial on how to use the 360 add-on on a WinXP PC with an HDCP compliant video card. He played HD-DVD movies using Cyberlink Power DVD HD-DVD Edition - maybe a pre-release beta:

http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=325&type=expert&pid=3

Cyberlink and Intervideo are reported to be releasing software HD-DVD players before Christmas.

http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/support/a...Id=-1&nCateId=5

I've read reports from the internet about succesful HD-DVD playback using the Japanese version of Intervideo WinDVD Platinum 8.
