I am trying to back up my copy of Ant Bully. Anyone else having trouble with it? My problem is that I am getting a cyclical redundancy error... as if there were a scratch or smudge on the disc (It is a brand new disc) when using DVD Shrink and DVDFab just locks up/stalls.
I have pretty much ALL the software needed for this task: DVDFab Decryptor, Any DVD, DVD Shrink. So far no luck.
Please advise.

yeah thanks guys. I did update dvdfab with latest version before trying it, but still didnt work. I dont have DVDClone. This is the 1st problem disc (w/o visual errors on disc) I have run into since getting AnyDVD. I'm going to either get another disc or wait for AnyDVD to update again to see if it is a coding/copywrite thing.
Dvd Decryptor didnt work either. I bet it's the disc. I may check out that "ripit4me" too. Thanks again.

Don't feel alone. I tried it with DVDShrink and good ol' DVDDecrypter both w/ANYDVD v6082 then v6088 running in the background with the same error you saw...guess I'll wait for v6090

They do have some bad presses out there. Mine got 14 minutes in and broke up and froze. Couldn't go forward at all. I/O error as far as copying it. Its definitely not the encryption.
I was so ugly when I was a kid, my parents used to take me everywhere just so they wouldn't have to kiss me goodbye.

I'm having problems making a backup copy of this movie too. First I tried DVD Shrink by itself. Than I tried FabDecrypter and received a window called Crash Report with information to fill out and send back to FabDvd. Than I tried Ripit4me?once it got to the DVD Decrypter part, I received error messages there too. Someone here suggested using AnyDVD with DVDShrink. That didn?t work for me either. :-/ This is the first time I've never been able to do a backup. Any other suggestions?

Yes, I used AnyDVD + DVDSHRINK. Thats what I always use. Didnt work, hence the thread. Froze at about 27-28% with shrink, and froze with other decryption software too.
We'll I guess it's not just me. Maybe we should just snail mail it to each other. lol jk. Hopefully something gets fixed.

Same here. I use AnyDVD and DVD Shrink. AnyDVD couldn't read it. I used DVD Decrypter as a back up if AnyDVD doesn't work. That was useless also. This exact same thing happened when I tried to back up White Christmas. I have found no resolution. I had this exact problem with Badder Santa. Tried the exact same movie later but a different disc and had no problem. I'm guessing it is the disc. They all played in my computer but none of my back up software worked on them. Honestly, I would suggest trying a different disc. That is the only thing I have found to work.

AnyDVD 6.0.9.0 is out now! Sounds like a lot of bad presses and that doesn't make sense.

Can I say this movie has nothing special on it. I backed up a copy for travel using AnyDVD 6.0.8.2 running in the backround along with Nero 7 Recode2. This back up was easy as pie for me, and should be the same for anyone else here. Reading geebnole's initial post he could have a bad disc, that's it. Again because this movie has no obvious difficult encryption like Arccos or RipGuard I have to say that the inabilty to back up this movie is no doubt user error. I would ask that anyone using AnyDVD not combine this software with any other decrypting software, This can and will cause decrypting software conflicts in many cases. I also keep my AnyDVD updated. AnyDVD is currently at version 6.0.9.0, I used 6.0.8.2 because this was the version available when I purchased "The Ant Bully". I would guess that any and all freeware should be able to handle this movie because there is no serious encryption to overcome. But if you choose to use AnyDVD all you need is a non-decrypting burning software like Nero Recode2 and that's it.:P

I have all the programs mentioned here. I know what I'm doing. I have a feeling that I just have a copy that can't be backed up. I'll just borrow my sister's to back up because I'll be damned if I'm going back to Wal-Mart (it's crazy this time of year) to return my dvd for another one. *sigh* Thanks for all your help.

Just get Ripit4me. It burns everything, including Ant Bully. I've yet to run into a problem with the program.

Raistlin9, have you actually tried burning more than ONE copy of this disc? If not, then your soln may not work. If so, that's great! But it seems like for some people, they have a "good copy" of the movie, and other's dont.
Like I said before. This is 1st problem I have encountered in a year...

Got a replacement copy today. Used AnyDVD and DVDSHRINK without any issues. My vote is in on a bad press problem.

After my last post, I tried viewing The Ant Bully (original DVD) on my computer. It played but on Fast Foward. I could not get it to play normally. When I played it on my TV it played fine. I decided to go back to the store my copy for another one. And guess what? I was able to create a backup copy just using DVDShrink and it plays fine. I'm a jolly fellow now. I agree, there must be a big batch of bad press out there. For those still having problems, try taking it back and getting a replacement. Good luck.
