Ok,I read that and from what I can fiqure I can't see how I rip or burn anything. How can I have Nero and not have any of these files?I used a program which shows your files and it reports I have none.I either have no clue of what I'm reading or there is something weird going on here. Here's what the scan read, please comment on this.

To rip DVDs use RipIt4Me (free off google) and to burn you have Nero :)

Cos Nero has its' own ASPI, different to the system files. I also, do not have ASPI on my PC, yet can burn fine. If you want to install ASPI (might benefit you) then it explains how to use ForceASPI on that website to install it.

Thanks for the reply. It shows how much I think I know but really have no idea about.I thought there had to be ASPI files, you confirm by not having them on your PC there doesn't.Where do I put these files if I try the Force download?

You don't put them anywhere, the program will put them there for you :)

Thank you. If I could ask you one more thing, could you comment on this.I had my Nero error log file read when the burn failed when I tried to burn at 4X.I can only burn at 2X or 1X,it doesn't matter what program it is or what media is used. They said everything looked fine.I'm confused as to how it looks fine yet the burn failed.Does this tend to point towards the burner being bad?

It may point to media or a firmware upgrade. If an old burner, then I'd need to check it's specs and see if it is compatible with the disks you're using.
What disks are you using?
What model/make is your drive?
What firmware version is it? (Run Nero info Tool)

It's a NEC-ND3550A,about 2-3 months old with the latest firmware,v.106.It's done this since new. I've been using Sony and Verbatiums which I think checked out ok with the Nero tool. The Sonys came back as Sony Recording Media 16D1 and the Verbatiums came back as MCC03RG20. I've had this same burning problem with all the media I've ever tried.

Post the log of your last failed burn for me to look at. (Don't post the whole Nero history file!) :-)

I can't see anythign wrong with that except the outdated Nero whih you say is now updated. Insall ForceASPI and try to burn again.

Thanks a ton for taking a look at that.If with the Force the same thing happens would you lean towards the burner being bad?

Just for the heck of it I ran Image Burn at 16X in the "test mode." The burner ran right through the ISO file perfectly. Then I tried to burn the file and the error pops up,no burn.Another thing is I can't shut Image Burn off.I can try to exit the program, but the burner just whirls away and Image Burn refuses to shut off.The exact same thing happens in Decrypter. If I want to exit either program,I have to do a hard shutdown of the computer.Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas or comments on this? Please I would love to read some comments.
