Right guys i think i need serious help here.

Ive flashed many xbox's before however ive came to an end. Ive been trying to flash an hitachi drive with the connectivity kit but wouldnt get reconised in windows which i thought was strange, so i thought is was something to do with my sata on the motherboard as its been changed recently to an nvidia nforce4. So i put the xbox back together to check everything is ok and its not. its booting up to the 360 dashboard and when i press the eject button im getting nothing but i notice on the dashboard that its says opening but its not, when i press it again its saying reading. Can anyone please help me here.

Sounds to me it is stuck in modeB. I've never used one of those kits to put the hitachi in modeB. I've always used a PCI SATA card with a SIL3112 chipset. Slax will get it into modeB.

Edit - Which model Hitachi are you trying to flash?

Try checking the sata cable and power coneections between the dvd drive and the 360 motherboard sounds like a bad connection if you didn't get to flash it.

your right i didnt get to flash it but i can even eject the hitachi drive via connectivity kit or in the xbox itself back to normal

may be a stupid question but are u sure the dvd drawer is properly aligned? i had that problem w/a dvd player and a ps2 ... dvd player i took apart and put back together and the tray was misaligned ... it received the signal to open and close but couldnt physically do so ...

i dunno ... worth a look b4 u go tinkering w/the drive again ...
